At the Ngāi Tukairangi Trust Annual General Meeting held on Saturday, 1 November 2025, the Board of Trustees identified an irregularity in the wording of the Trust’s proxy form. Specifically, the form listed witness options that are not permitted under the Trust Deed, rendering some proxy forms invalid. This issue was discussed at the AGM and attendees supported the Board’s proposal to rectify the matter.
To ensure compliance with the Trust Deed and maintain the integrity of the election process, the Board resolved to adjourn the election to the following date and time:

Voting Provisions
In recognition of requests from owners residing outside the rohe/region, electronic voting will be available to ensure participation without the need for additional travel.

- Complete the form in full and send it to [email protected] by 10:45am, Sunday 16 November 2025.
- You must attend the hui online via video link on the day to vote – this validates your vote.

Proxy Form Correction
The adjournment period allows proxy holders to correct their forms to ensure they comply with the Trust Deed.
Issue Identified:
The Trust Deed does not permit proxy forms to be witnessed by koro or kuia, although the original form incorrectly included these options.
Under Clause 29(c) of the Trust Deed, the following individuals may act as valid witnesses:
- Solicitor of the High Court
- Justice of the Peace
- Licensed Interpreter of the Māori Language
- Registered Medical Practitioner
- Officiating Minister
- Registered Nurse
- School Teacher
- Officer of the Ministry of Justice
- Chartered or Registered Accountant
Proxy forms witnessed by any of the above are valid. The Chair has received all proxy forms and will notify proxy holders whose forms require correction as soon as possible.
